Support the West London Orbital railway
We are seeking your public support for the West London Orbital rail scheme, which will help to transform West London’s economy.
The West London Orbital is a new, cost-effective rail service being developed by the London boroughs of Barnet, Brent, Ealing, Hounslow and the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation, along with Transport for London. It is designed to unlock jobs, housing, and growth across West London.
Work is now underway on the business case and funding package, with the ambition to deliver the scheme in the 2030s. Visible backing from West London businesses will be critical in demonstrating to the Government and decision‑makers that this project is not only transformative, but economically essential.
If you agree, your company Logo and business name will be added to the attached joint letter from businesses calling for the West London Orbital to be delivered.
The letter will be shared with MPs, Government Departments and other key decision makers to show the scale and breadth of support for the West London Orbital.
Using existing under-used rail lines, the new West London Orbital service will run from Hounslow to Hendon in just 37 minutes, serving up to 14 stations, including Old Oak Common, with direct interchange to the Elizabeth Line and HS2.
For businesses, this offers a step-change in connectivity and productivity, unlocking huge opportunities:
- Improved access to a larger workforce, with up to 3.6 million jobs reachable within a 43‑minute commute
- Journey time savings of up to 42 minutes between key employment areas
- Support for West London’s media, tech, logistics and Heathrow‑related clusters such as Brent Cross, Old Oak Common and Park Royal, Hounslow town centre, and the Golden Mile.
- A catalyst for growth, with the potential to help deliver 11,400 new jobs and 15,800 homes in west London.
Crucially, the West London Orbital is a practical, deliverable investment. By maximising existing infrastructure, it offers strong value for money, lower disruption during construction, and a faster route to delivery compared with major new build schemes.
