Have your say on a raised zebra crossing on Southfield Road
What this consultation is for
Ealing Council is asking people what they think about introducing a raised parallel zebra crossing in Southfield Road, between St Albans Avenue and Strauss Road .
Background
Southfield Road is a strategic route serving many schools, businesses and bus routes in Chiswick. The proposal includes raising the road surface to form a ‘table’ which will help to create a speed reducing feature. The crossing will incorporate a crossing facility for mounted cyclists, so it will be slightly wider than a conventional zebra crossing.
What would change
The proposed raised zebra crossing would provide a clear place to cross the road for children and other pedestrians. Drivers would understand that they must stop at the zebra crossing when someone wants to cross the road. This is expected to make the area safer and reduce the risk of collisions.
The council has developed detailed proposals for this improvement, which are shown in the attached plan and document.
Phases

The responses to this consultation will be analysed and reported to your ward councillors and the Cabinet Member for Climate Action. A decision will be then be taken regarding implementation of the scheme. If the scheme is approved, the design may be amended based on the feedback received during this consultation.
The results of this consultation will be published roughly four weeks after the consultation ends.
