Help shape the area around Southall Station and Merrick Road
Why are we engaging?
Ealing Council is working on the emerging Southall Economic Vision and Placemaking Delivery Plan. Led by Jas Bhalla Works and PRD, the plan will set a 10-year economic vision for Southall, and also identify what could be delivered in the short, medium and long term to support the Southall economy and improve local places.
Have your say
Our current engagement is focused on what would best benefit the area around Southall Station and Merrick Road in particular. Your feedback will help us improve the proposals so they better reflect what matters most to the Southall community.
Why is this work needed?
Southall is changing, with many new developments already completed or underway. We want Southall to fully benefit from these changes by:
- supporting local businesses and jobs
- celebrating Southall's unique identity and culture
- creating welcoming places that serve everyone who lives, works, and visits here

Thank you for taking time to be part of shaping Southall’s future.
Phases
Publishing the final report and next steps
We will review all responses received through the survey as well as feedback from workshops with stakeholders and community groups. This feedback will be used to create a final report that will include a refined overall vision for Southall and clear placemaking principles informing the priorities and phasing of future projects in the Southall Station and Merrick Road area.
We will then share the report with ward councillors and Cabinet Members. Decisions will then be taken regarding implementation of the proposal. If approved, we will begin considering projects in the Southall area which will be individually consulted on.
If you would like to be notified when the final report is published, you can follow the project using the button located at the top right of the page.
