Help shape Pear Tree Park

Ealing Council is consulting on its proposed landscape and wetlands strategy for Pear Tree Park, in order to reduce flooding and provide valuable habitat for wildlife in the park.

Pear Tree Park opened in July 2024. It is part of the emerging West London Regional Park, which will connect parks, rivers and canals into one continuous landscape across West London.

The council has been awarded £250k from DEFRA’s Water Restoration Fund to develop designs for new wetland habitat in Pear Tree Park.

We would like to hear from you about the following proposed improvements in the park:

  • Wetland interventions and a wetland meadow, to slow the movement of water and hold water to prevent flooding.
  • Improved natural water pathways, including draining, backwaters, and ditches.
  • Floodplain meadow, and an area for floodplain activation.
  • Grassland meadow, with opportunities for woodland planting and new or improved paths.
  • Improved tree management and access on the river corridor
  • Better defined park entrance
  • Any other suggestions you have

Please refer to page 4-6 of the proposal document below.

Following the positive feedback from the consultation, we will seek planning permission for the wetland designs in summer 2026. Once the planning application is live this will be another opportunity to share your opinions on the designs.

We are currently exploring options to secure funding for the physical implementation of these designs.
